EKD/EFKD Recall
Kohler Power Systems is conducting a voluntary recall pertaining to specified KOHLER marine gasoline generator sets (5/7.5/10EKD and 4/6/8EFKD models) manufactured from 2008 to 2013. The high temperature and low pressure switches on the affected generator sets may not shut down the generator quickly enough in the event of loss of coolant, posing a fire and safety risk. No injuries have been reported; however, to provide maximum boating safety, Kohler Power Systems will replace the high exhaust temperature switch with a flow switch, install a new seawater pressure switch and relocate the seawater pressure switch, at no charge to owners. Owners are instructed not to use their units until this service has been completed.
